Interview question: What are primitive data types in C#?

In C#, According to the type of the data and size of the data, data types are classified into five types. They are:

• Numerical Data types
  1. Signed numerical: sbyte, short, int, long
  2. Unsigned Numerical: byte, ushort, uint, ulong
• Floating float, double, decimal
• Character related Data types
  1. Char
• Logical Data Types
  1. Bool
• General data types
  1. String
  2. Object

They are called primitive because they are the main built-in types, and could be used to build other data types. The most famous primitive data types are: int, string, object, short, char, float, double, char, bool.
